Stories FROM THE FIELD

On a recent visit to a family dairy operation in eastern Wisconsin, I was treated to a very special event. The Nischke Farms in Pulaski WI., hosted the local FFA (Future Farmers of America) annual ‘Kids on the Farm’ day. Three bus-loads of youngsters from area grade schools spent the day learning about livestock, farm equipment and day-to-day operations. For many of the kids, it was their first time on a farm and you could see that they were very intrigued, asking lots of great questions.

I was very impressed with the professional way the FFA young people handled this event. The future of farming is in good hands. Thanks for a great day.

Feed, milk, repeat. That’s our daily routine here at Meadowlark Dairies. We feed and milk 1,350 cows, three times a day—every day. That’s a lot of scooping, mixing and hauling feed back and forth. Our cows never stop producing and neither does our red equipment.

I want to thank and congratulate Service Motor Company. I attended their recent Combine Clinic held at their Fond du Lac, WI. dealership. I felt they did an outstanding job presenting information on new harvesting equipment as well as maintenance tips for our existing equipment. It was well attended and we were treated at the end with a surprise appearance by Green Bay Packer Jordy Nelson. Great guy!
